After my first year as an OSC I decided to start writing about what it was like. My never surfaced writing broke down the OSC experience, month-by-month.
Now, and many many years later as I’m re-reading it, I’m realizing just how much of that advice and experience was spot on.
What would I tell myself from where I am now?
What would have mattered or changed my direction?
I’m sure nothing at all because I am nothing if not obstinate, but it’s such a good reminder of what we want to remember in this role.
For Subscribers: Here’s all the things I would tell any new OSC about how to approach their role. Not new to the role? Settle in and remember why you like doing it in the first place. Maybe laugh a little at what you know you did once upon a time.
